Devlog #4 – Steam Integration, Cinematics & Next Steps



Hello everyone,

Big progress has been made on Echoes of the Cave! The project is shaping up fast, and we’re moving closer to a fully immersive experience.

What’s new:

  • Integrated the Steam SDK — just waiting on achievement details and the Steam game code to finish setup.

  • Updated puzzle symbols with a new golden design for better visual clarity.

  • Added cinematic sequences: the game now features a proper intro and a gate-entry cutscene to enhance storytelling.

Possible new features (not in the original GDD):

  • Dialogue system 

  • Language support system 

  • Hint system

Next steps:

  • Finalize Steam SDK achievement details.

  • Decide whether to include dialogues, multi-language support, and hints.

  • Resolve character model issues to move forward with animations.

  • DLC new playable female character

The foundation keeps growing stronger — and with Steam integration and cinematics, the cave is starting to feel truly alive.
